At the beginning of June 2025, UNFI was hit by a cyberattack and was forced to shut down its entire network to contain the incident. The outage prevented UNFI from fulfilling and distributing customer orders at scale. The result? Diminished shelves due to out-of-stocks all over the country and likely a huge hit to UNFI’s gross profit margins.
